Nephrology Research Organization The Netherlands (NEFRO-NL) is a nationwide network in which academic and non-academic healthcare institutions collaborate to strengthen nephrology research.
We facilitate both investigator- and industry-initiated multicentre clinical studies and connect research initiators with participating centres across the Netherlands. Through central coordination, shared expertise and efficient research processes, we aim to accelerate high-quality research and improve care for kidney patients.

Beat kidney disease by boosting research collaboration
NEFRO-NL brings together nephrologists, researchers and healthcare institutions across the Netherlands to accelerate the initiation and execution of high-quality clinical research.
By strengthening collaboration, efficiency and support, we aim to improve research outcomes and ultimately contribute to better care for kidney patients.
Enable each kidney patient to participate in research
Our ambition is to grow into a nationwide network that connects all Dutch healthcare institutions providing kidney care.
By centralising expertise and administrative processes, we aim to make clinical research more accessible to patients, researchers and hospitals and strengthen the Netherlands as a leading country for nephrology research.
How We Work
NEFRO-NL connects research initiators with healthcare institutions across the Netherlands and supports an efficient and transparent process for nephrology research.
We facilitate collaboration between sponsors, CROs, researchers and participating sites, from initial study evaluation and site selection to study initiation and conduct.
Pharmaceutical companies
NEFRO-NL supports pharmaceutical companies and CROs with scientific evaluation, site feasibility and the identification of suitable participating centres.
Our structured approach facilitates efficient communication and clinical trial initiation across the Dutch nephrology network.
